Our specialists in art restoration are also on hand full-time for various restorations in order to raise the value of artworks. The conservation laboratory also contains a world-class photography studio which offers state-of-the-art, high-definition photographs, with X-ray and ultraviolet functions which can assess the condition of delicate artworks.
After the condition of the artworks are examined and documented, an assessment report will be provided which contains basic information such as dimensions, materials, an overall photograph (front and back), damages, framing and packing. Where an issues is noted, we will suggest restoration, better storage methods and other appropriate solutions.
The photography studio in the conservation laboratory is equipped with a hundred million pixels ultra high definition camera for examination. It is also capable of ultraviolet, infrared, X-ray, light microscope photography and other various types of optical examination.
Upon meticulous attention to structure, aesthetics and future storage condition of each artwork, we suggest the most appropriate method for restoration. Damages to artworks can be due to a number of factors. They can be caused by the materials, past storage condition, the age of the artworks and creating process. So we investigate these factors by researching the current condition, past storage environment and information provided by the client. We then offer the most paramount conservation or restoration method, based on careful consideration of how to maintain the original integrity of the artists’ work from a multi-faceted approach.
Removal of dust on the surface and back of the artworks, artwork frame care and other basic cleaning are also available.
